COLLECTING BEE VENOM

Collecting bee venom with the correct device makes it possible to be both ecological and bee-friendly. Some companies kill the bees and take their venom sack. We think that it is highly unethical.

We recommend using a bee-friendly method. In brief, the bees are stimulated to sting a glass plate by giving them a small safe current. The bee venom dries on the glass plate consist of small crystals referred to as bee venom powder. Shortly after, the bees return to their daily business of honey making.

Bees are vital for our ecosystem and essential for pollination. These under-appreciated workers pollinate 80 percent of our flowering crops. Losing them could affect not only dietary staples but may threaten our beef and dairy industries as well.

This type of bee venom collector is safe for the bees. It has in-built protection features that are making sure the bees are safe. The device changes the electrical current depending on humidity, the status of battery level, amount of bees, and other factors.

When the collection session is finished, the glass plate is taken out for a first visual inspection of the venom. If everything looks appropriate, the plates are put in a cooler bag and transported to the processing room. This is the room where the bee venom is scraped off the plate.
